The dismissal was the result of denunciations. According to the author of one of the denunciations, Miroshnikov gave students a report on the topic “A journalist and his activities.” When grading, the opinions of the teacher and the student regarding the text about the VGTRK employee differed, a denunciation was written against the teacher, and Konstantin Miroshnikov was fired.

Summary: The Academic Council of Kazan Federal University (KFU) did not renew the contract with Professor Nail Fatkullin, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. In early May 2022, he circulated among his colleagues an open letter demanding an end to "military actions in Ukraine". A few days later, the Kazan Prosecutor's Office issued a warning to the KFU professor. On May 27, the contract of the respected teacher with forty years of experience was not renewed.
On July 29, 2022, the Vakhitovsky District Court of Kazan found Nail Fatkullin guilty of "discrediting" the army (Article 20.3.3 Part 1 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation) and fined him 15,000 rubles for his anti-war letter.
